Spurs boss Harry Redknapp says that he only found out about Sandro's five-year deal from the television.

Harry Redknapp has said that he only found out about Spurs midfielder Sandro signing a five-year deal at the club through watching TV.

The Tottenham boss, who believes that he has enough things to focus on as it is during the season, insists that managers no longer get involved in that part of the game.

Instead, Redknapp leaves the negotiating up to club chairman Daniel Levy.

"The first time I knew anything about Sandro signing was when I switched on the TV," said Redknapp, according to The Sun.

"I was pleased to hear it but I didn't have a clue. Managers don't get involved in negotiations anymore.

"There is enough on my plate working with players and picking the team. Daniel loves doing that kind of thing, so he gets on with it."

The deal will keep Sandro, 22, at White Hart Lane until 2016.
