Tottenham Hotspur may face competition from Galatasaray should they attempt to sign Italian defender Davide Astori this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur could face competition from Galatasaray should they attempt to sign Italian defender Davide Astori this summer.

Roberto Mancini is thought to be monitoring the Cagliari Calcio centre-back, who has also been a long-term target for English club Tottenham.

According to Football Direct News, which cites Turkish Football as its source, Mancini is keen to make a move for the former AC Milan defender as he looks to strengthen his back-line for next season.

Astori joined Cagliari from Milan in 2008 having found it difficult to hold down a position in the club's starting XI.
