Manchester City's pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane allegedly becomes more complicated due to the recently-announced Premier League schedule.

Manchester City have reportedly been provided with a further stumbling block ahead of a possible move for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.

Last month, it was strongly claimed that the England international was open to ending his long-term association with the North London outfit.

City are one of a number of clubs who are aware that it will take a bid in the region of £150m to tempt Spurs chairman Daniel Levy into a sale.

However, according to The Telegraph, any deal has been made more complex with Spurs now scheduled to host Pep Guardiola's team on the opening day of the next Premier League campaign.

The report says that Kane would not be allowed to make his City debut at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, whether that be through a contractual agreement or Levy delaying any transfer.

Spurs are allegedly wary that the return of the 27-year-old would overshadow the opening home fixture for their new manager, likely to be Paulo Fonseca.
