Alexandre Pato: 'I turned down Tottenham Hotspur move'

Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato reveals that he turned down an offer to join Tottenham Hotspur during the summer.

Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign him last summer.

Pato's form since leaving AC Milan for a return to Brazil has attracted several suitors, and the forward has admitted that he had the opportunity to move to England.

The 24-year-old told SporTV: "Tottenham had called Corinthians to ask for my transfer.

"I sat at the table with the club and my agent, and I decided that I wanted to stay."

Pato has scored 16 goals in 51 appearances since signing for Corinthians for a fee of £12.2m.
