Tottenham Hotspur technical director Franco Baldini will reportedly hold talks with Barcelona forward David Villa later this week.

Tottenham Hotspur's pursuit of Barcelona forward David Villa will reportedly be made official later this week.

The 31-year-old, who netted a hat-trick for Spain in their 10-0 win over Tahiti in the Confederations Cup earlier this month, is expected to leave Camp Nou this summer after making just 17 La Liga starts last season.

Spurs are the favourites to sign Villa and, according to the Daily Mail, technical director Franco Baldini will hold talks with the player in the coming days.

Villa cost Barca £35m when they signed him from Valencia in 2010, making him the seventh most expensive player of all time.
