Victor Wanyama has reportedly told Southampton that he wants to leave the club before the end of the transfer window.
Ronald Koeman's side have managed to keep the Kenyan midfielder while other star players have left in the past two summers, but recent reports have suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on bringing him to the capital.
According to Sky Sports News, club officials made it clear to Wanyama that they were preparing to offer him a new deal, but despite the stance taken by the Saints, the 24-year-old has informed them that he is no longer happy at St Mary's Stadium.
The report suggests that the defensive midfielder is keen to work with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino once again after the Argentine signed him from Celtic during his time with Southampton.
It remains unclear whether Wanyama will still be involved when Southampton take on Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.
