Steve Kean: 'We need new signings'
Steve Kean hopes Blackburn Rovers will make some signings before the transfer window shuts.

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has reacted to his side's 2-1 defeat at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers by insisting that the club must make some new signings before the transfer window shuts.

Rovers took the lead at Ewood Park through Mauro Formica and after Steven Fletcher had headed Wolves level, Stephen Ward scored the winner shortly after the break.

After a host of injuries in defence forced Kean to play central midfielder Steven N'Zonzi at the back, the boss hopes that the club will bring in fresh faces soon.

"We're a little bit stretched on numbers today and we've had to play Steven N'Zonzi as centre-back, which was tough," Kean told Sky Sports News.

"We then lose the impact that Steven has been giving us all over the pitch so we're disappointed.

"There's 11 players that have left the club so our main job over the next few weeks is to bolster the squad in numbers to make sure we've got a competitive squad."

Rovers have been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur's Robbie Keane, although LA Galaxy remain favourites for the Republic or Ireland striker's signature.
