Eric Dier targets Premier League, World Cup double

Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder Eric Dier hopes to win the Premier League and World Cup to achieve his dream.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has admitted that he 'dreams' of winning the Premier League title and helping national side England to World Cup success.

The 23-year-old has fallen short in each of the past two seasons with the Lilywhites, most recently finishing seven points adrift of champions Chelsea in 2016-17.

Dier has made a significant contribution to England's qualifying campaign on the road to Russia, meanwhile, seeing his side reach next summer's finals with a game to spare following victory over Slovenia last time out.

Asked about the prospect of a memorable double come the end of the season, the former Sporting Lisbon ace is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "That is really what I dream of. Winning the Premier League and then win something for England.

"There is so much that will happen before the World Cup. You just never know what is going to happen and that is one of the things I have learned. It is exciting to be there because it is not just one of the biggest football events but a world sporting event as well. I want to be part of it."

Dier has played 12 games for club and country this season, netting his only goal in the 2-1 win over Slovakia in September.
