Saturday's League Two predictions including Wrexham vs. Stockport County

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League Two fixtures, including Wrexham vs. Stockport County.

AFC Wimbledon vs. Walsall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

On the final matchday of the League Two campaign, Walsall travel to Cherry Records Stadium, needing a massive win versus AFC Wimbledon and some favourable results to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the promotional playoffs.

The Dons' chances of making the playoffs fell by the wayside last weekend when they suffered a 3-2 defeat versus Tranmere Rovers, while the Saddlers playoff hopes took a hit when Bradford City beat them by that same score, as they are currently three points back of seventh but with a goal difference of 0 when compared to Barrow, who are at +6.

We say: AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Walsall

Wimbledon have nothing to lose heading into this encounter, which we believe will enable them to come out a lot more relaxed and get the better of a Walsall side that could be rather tense, given the uphill battle they have to make the playoffs and the fact that they have only earned one away triumph in this competition since the beginning of March.

Accrington vs. Tranmere (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Accrington Stanley's Tommy Leigh celebrates scoring their first goal on January 24, 2023© Reuters

On Saturday, Accrington Stanley will finish their first campaign back in League Two when they welcome Tranmere Rovers to Wham Stadium on matchday 46.

The 'Owd Reds are 18th in the table following a 4-2 defeat versus Stockport County, putting them three points below the Rovers, who held onto a 3-2 victory over Wimbledon in their previous encounter.

We say: Accrington Stanley 2-2 Tranmere Rovers

The energy of the home crowd may give Accrington a boost, but the momentum that Tranmere have recently built up, along with their newfound attacking quality, has us believing they will earn a result on Saturday.

Barrow vs. Mansfield (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Already-promoted Mansfield Town travel to The Dunes Hotel Stadium to take on Barrow, who are fighting for a playoff spot, in the final game of the League Two season.

The hosts head into the match in seventh place but find themselves in a battle with three teams below them as they fight to secure their place in the playoff spots.

We say: Barrow 0-2 Mansfield Town

The two sides come into this game in completely opposing form, with Barrow picking up the second least points of any team in the division over the past six fixtures, while Mansfield have picked up four wins from their last four.

Because of that, we believe that Mansfield will continue their excellent run ahead of their return to League One next season with a victory here.

Bradford vs. Newport (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Bradford City's late push for a League Two playoff spot will go right down to the wire on Saturday when they host Newport County in the final game of the regular season.

The Bantams are relying on other results going their way this weekend, but they must win their match to give themselves a fighting chance.

We say: Bradford City 2-0 Newport County

All the pressure is on Bradford in this particular fixture, but considering they could earn a playoff position that is something they are likely to relish.

With Newport being on a dreadful run of form there should be no shortage of confidence for the Bantams, who will expect to take all three points.

Colchester vs. Crewe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides with different things to play for on the final matchday of the League Two campaign will square off on Saturday as Colchester United host Crewe Alexandra at JobServe Community Stadium.

For the U's, a single point this weekend will preserve their EFL status following a 4-1 defeat to Doncaster Rovers, while a draw would do the same for the Railwaymen despite suffering a 3-0 defeat versus Wrexham last weekend.

We say: Colchester United 2-0 Crewe Alexandra

All of the League Two contests on Saturday take place simultaneously, which means each side should feel a sense of urgency to earn a result.

Despite Crewe having 26 more points than their weekend opponents, they have looked undisciplined and unhinged defensively, sometimes against mediocre sides, while Colchester have been able to keep most of their recent matches close and that consistency should help them in this decisive encounter.

Crawley vs. Grimsby Town (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Crawley Town will attempt to book their place in the League Two playoff positions on the final day of the season this Saturday as they host Grimsby Town.

The hosts will rely on other teams dropping points this weekend to give them a chance, but they must win to capitalise on any possibilities.

We say: Crawley Town 2-1 Grimsby Town

Considering how much is on the line for Crawley this weekend it is hard to imagine them slipping up and dropping any points here, which is why they should get the win.

However, the recent form of both teams will certainly make this a trickier game than the hosts would like.

Forest Green vs. Notts County (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Birmingham City's Kevin Long celebrates scoring against Forest Green Rovers on January 17, 2023© Reuters

The final curtain of the 2023-24 EFL League Two season will see relegated Forest Green Rovers taking on 14th-placed Notts County at The New Lawn Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

These two sides previously clashed in September in an exhilarating match that ended 4-3 in favour of the Magpies, despite a remarkable hat-trick from Troy Deeney for the Green Army.

We say: Forest Green Rovers 1-2 Notts County

While Forest Green Rovers will be hoping to bow out of League Two on a high note, they will receive no favours from Notts County, who are still in the running to secure a top-half finish on the final day of the regular season. This should be an entertaining watch, but we feel the visitors will come away with the points.

Gillingham vs. Doncaster (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Doncaster Rovers' Joe Ironside scores their first goal on August 30, 2023© Reuters

Everything is on the line this Saturday in the final League Two game of the season, as Doncaster Rovers require just one point to guarantee themselves a place in the playoffs.

They will travel to face Gillingham in the curtain closer, aiming to continue their impressive 11-match undefeated streak.

We say: Gillingham 0-3 Doncaster Rovers

Gillingham have had a strong season, but with nothing to play for this weekend, it is unlikely that they are going to dampen the run that Doncaster are enjoying.

The visitors will secure their place in the playoffs and continue to build the momentum that they have heading into that competition.

MK Dons vs. Sutton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

With one final chance to preserve their Football League status, Sutton United will travel to Stadium MK to face MK Dons in a vitally-important League Two clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Dons' place in the fourth-tier playoffs is already secured heading into the last weekend, whilst the U's are staring relegation to the National League in the face ahead of this one.

We say: MK Dons 2-1 Sutton United

Although MK Dons will have one eye on the playoffs, the hosts are likely to use Saturday's match as a warm-up game ahead of the upcoming race for promotion.

Sutton have won just four times on the road this season in 22 attempts, meaning that a safety-clinching victory in Buckinghamshire is unlikely this weekend.

Salford City vs. Harrogate (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Salford City will host Harrogate Town on Saturday in the League Two curtain closer, with each team aiming to wrap up their respective campaigns in style.

While the hosts are mathematically safe in the relegation battle, the visitors can earn a top-half finish with three points this weekend.

We say: Salford City 0-2 Harrogate Town

With Salford having already achieved their goal of securing League Two survival, they have very little to play for this weekend.

Considering that the visitors could end up finishing in the top half with a victory, Harrogate could take all three points to wrap up the season.

Swindon vs. Morecambe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Swindon Town will host Morecambe on Saturday in the final game of the League Two season.

Despite the absence of any major stakes, both Swindon Town and Morecambe will be vying for a victorious end to their campaigns, aiming to secure a higher position on the table.

We say: Swindon Town 1-1 Morecambe

It has been a disappointing campaign for both teams, with each likely looking forward to the season drawing to a close this weekend.

With that in mind, it would not be a surprise to see them battle it out to a draw, particularly due to the poor form Swindon and Morecambe have coming into this one.

Wrexham vs. Stockport (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Third will welcome first in League Two on Saturday afternoon, with the champions Stockport County heading to fellow promoted outfit Wrexham for what should be an intriguing contest.

Both sides will operate in League One next season, with Stockport winning the title this term, while Wrexham have made it back-to-back promotions and can still finish in second position in the table on the final matchday.

We say: Wrexham 2-2 Stockport County

Mansfield fans will, of course, think differently, but there is a strong argument that this will be a meeting of the two best sides in the division. There is nothing substantial on offer for either team this weekend, which could produce an open match, and we are expecting the points to be shared in an entertaining draw.
