Stoke City are locked in negotiations with free agent Glen Johnson, according to reports.
The right-back left Liverpool at the end of last season after six years, and is currently on the lookout for a new club before the 2015-16 campaign begins.
The Daily Mail claims that West Ham United are also keen on Johnson, but Potters boss Mark Hughes hopes to convince the 30-year-old to choose Stoke by offering him a three-year contract.
If Johnson moves to the Potteries he could make his debut against Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
