Sunderland's Gus Poyet concerned about Bradford City's pitch

Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet is concerned that the state of Bradford City's pitch at Valley Parade will affect Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round tie.

Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet has expressed concern over the state of Bradford City's pitch at Valley Parade ahead of Sunday's FA Cup tie.

The Bantams play two divisions lower than their Premier League opponents, and Poyet believes that there is a gulf in conditions as well as quality.

"I'd have liked a better pitch," the Uruguayan said in this afternoon's press conference. "We need to be very clever because we have got used to nice beautiful pitches and now we have to go back a few years on this pitch - that will be the biggest challenge.

"It will be a unique game, totally different to anything else this season. We won't know where the ball will bounce, but I don't want to become all about the pitch. It's about how we adapt and how we pay in difficult and different conditions."

Bradford secured a 4-2 victory over Chelsea to reach the fifth round of the tournament.
