Phil Bardsley says that Martin O'Neill's secret to success is keeping things simple.

Phil Bardsley has said that Martin O'Neill's secret to success is keeping things simple.

Sunderland have won 19 out of 27 points since O'Neill took over from Steve Bruce in December.

"It's been so simple. The manager has changed things around with simple things," Bardsley said. "He says things to you and you think, 'Oh yeah, that's right'.

"It's not massive things, it's just his presence and the things he says.

"He's a great person to learn from."

The Black Cats are currently eighth in the Premier League with 30 points from 23 games.
