Gus Poyet confident of more Sunderland signings

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet reveals that he is expecting to complete more signings before the start of the new Premier League season.

Gus Poyet has said that he is expecting to complete more signings ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.

Sunderland have already brought in five new players during this transfer window, and have been in talks with Liverpool over a deal for Fabio Borini, who spent last season on loan at the Stadium of Light.

The manager told the Sunderland Echo: "Yes, I don't want to say how many, because people will throw it back at me, but I am expecting more signings before the season starts.

"There's no more news just yet though. We are still working on it. We are still a week away and the days go past quite quickly. I hope we can have some more news very soon."

Sunderland face West Bromwich Albion in their first match next Saturday.
