Sports Mole looks at how Switzerland could line up for Friday's World Cup clash with Serbia at Stadium 974.

Switzerland may be without Noah Okafor for their clash against Serbia on Friday, as he is currently suffering with a muscle issue.

The forward only featured for fewer than 20 minutes in the opener against Cameroon, so his absence is not likely to be considered a huge concern by manager Murat Yakin, but it is still unwelcome news going into a crucial game.

Between the sticks, Yann Sommer should continue to get the nod having been the first choice for a number of years, and he would be gaining his 80th cap for his country.

Manuel Akanji and Nico Elvedi have been the consistent centre-back pairing for Nati up to this point, and there is seemingly no reason for either of them to miss out, having spearheaded solid defensive displays.

Silvan Widmer and Ricardo Rodriguez have both got the nod on either side of the backline in both games, and the pair are once more set to complete the back four.

A point is likely to be enough for Switzerland, so they may opt for the cautious approach that was in place against Brazil, with Granit Xhaka and Remo Freuler sitting deep in midfield.

Going forward, Djibril Sow should play through the middle in an advanced role, with Ruben Vargas on the left, while Xherdan Shaqiri could return to the team, having missed out against Brazil for youngster Fabian Rieder.

With his goal remaining the only one scored by Nati at the tournament so far, Breel Embolo should complete the team, leading the line by himself.

Switzerland possible starting lineup:
Sommer; Widmer, Akanji, Elvedi, Rodriguez; Xhaka, Freuler; Shaqiri, Sow, Vargas; Embolo
