Watford boss Oscar Garcia leaves hospital after a week

Watford head coach Oscar Garcia is discharged from hospital a week after being admitted with chest pains.

Watford have confirmed that head coach Oscar Garcia left hospital yesterday a week after being admitted because of chest pains.

The 41-year-old Spaniard, who was appointed earlier this month, had to miss two of the Hornets' games - a win at Blackpool and a draw against Bournemouth - because of the illness.

Garcia was expected to leave hospital on Friday, but was only cleared yesterday.

"The club is pleased to confirm that head coach Oscar Garcia left hospital [on Sunday]," read a statement on the club website. "At this stage, the Hornets expect Oscar to hopefully return to work later on this week."

Watford have had a good start to the season and sit fourth in the table, two points adrift of table-toppers Nottingham Forest ahead of their trip to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
