West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke believes that the Baggies have proved that they're a "strong squad" in the early stage of the season.

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke believes that his squad have enough strength and depth to make an impact in the Premier League.

The Baggies currently sit sixth in the league table on equal points with fourth-placed Everton.

"In the Premier League in general you need a strong squad, which is something we've tried to build at Albion this year," said Clarke.

"I think over the first seven games we've shown that our squad is strong enough to be competitive."

West Brom take on English champions Manchester City at The Hawthorns this Saturday.
