Report: Paul Jewell quit West Bromwich Albion role because of pay cuts

Paul Jewell reportedly left his role as West Bromwich Albion assistant manager due to proposed pay cuts.

Paul Jewell reportedly left his role on West Bromwich Albion's coaching staff due to wage cuts.

The former Ipswich Town boss walked out of the Premier League club just a week after being appointed as joint assistant manager under Tony Pulis.

Yesterday, Jewell hinted that he is taking legal action after admitting that his departure from The Hawthorns was not by mutual consent.

According to The Express, Pulis and coach David Kemp agreed to take pay cuts in order to bring Gerry Francis into the coaching fold, but Jewell rejected the new wage structure.

Since the 50-year-old's departure, Francis, who has worked alongside Pulis for seven years, has joined the Baggies' backroom staff.
