Alex Song delighted with West Ham United spirit

West Ham United midfielder Alex Song is elated with the character that his side showed to again come from behind to earn a point against Sunderland.

West Ham United midfielder Alex Song has admitted that he is delighted with the spirit his side continue to show this season.

The Hammers rallied from behind to claim a 1-1 draw from their Premier League trip to Sunderland, as Stewart Downing cancelled out Jordi Gomez's strike from the penalty spot.

The result marked the third time in a row that Sam Allardyce's side had come from behind to claim points, following wins over West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City.

"We are happy to come away with a point," Song told the club's official website. "I think it is a good point - it is never easy when you go to play Sunderland.

"We conceded the first goal, but then scored ourselves and managed the game well. We had opportunities to score more, but it didn't come.

"It's good to not lose, you can see the good spirit and we have to focus on the way we are playing."

West Ham are fourth in the Premier League, level on points with Manchester United, following their draw at the Stadium of Light.
