West Ham United are said to have expressed an interest in Red Bull Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen in the dying days of the transfer window.
The 22-year-old only moved to the Austrian side from Ajax last July, signing a five-year contract for an initial £4.2m transfer fee.
David Moyes's side are in the hunt for a new right-back for the second half of the campaign and are already said to have had an offer for Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash rebuked, while Tottenham Hotspur's Kyle Walker-Peters looks destined to move to Southampton.
According to The Independent, the Hammers have now made an approach for Denmark youth international Kristensen, who won the Eredivisie title with Ajax last year, as a cheaper alternative to Cash.
Kristensen was part of both Salzburg squads that faced Liverpool in the Champions League group stages earlier this season.
