West Ham United 'to sign Jonjo Shelvey this summer'

West Ham United will sign Jonjo Shelvey from Newcastle United this summer, according to a report.

West Ham United are reportedly confident of signing Jonjo Shelvey from Newcastle United this summer.

Shelvey, 27, has not made the squad for any of Newcastle's last eight Premier League matches.

Having fallen out of favour under Magpies boss Rafael Benitez, Shelvey is expected to move on at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

West Ham were linked with the Englishman during the January transfer window, but according to The Sun, the Hammers will complete a deal for the former Liverpool midfielder ahead of the 2019-2020 season.

Shelvey, who has a contract at St James' Park until the summer of 2021, has managed just one assist and zero goals in 12 appearances for Newcastle this season.
