Preview: Wigan Athletic vs. Rotherham United

Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's meeting between Wigan Athletic and Rotherham United.

Two Championship strugglers face off on Saturday afternoon when Wigan Athletic entertain Rotherham United at the DW Stadium.

It's the battle of two of the worst records in the league as Malky Mackay's Wigan side go in search of their first victory since the last week of October.

A quick look at their recent form shows that Rotherham are suffering too, with Steve Evans last seeing his players celebrate a win on October 17.

However, a run of three successive draws has boosted the mood in the Rotherham camp as the fixtures begin to pile up over the festive period.

As a result, Rotherham are just one place outside the relegation zone, four points ahead of Wigan, who currently sit 23rd in the table.

Mackay continues to search for his favourite lineup, and there could be a recall for Shaun Maloney after the Scot was used as a substitute last weekend, while Maynor Figueroa is set to return in defence.

Evans could be tempted to name an unchanged side as Rotherham go in search of a win which could take them six points clear of the bottom three this weekend.

Wigan:

Recent form: LLDLLL

Possible starting lineup: Carson, Perch, Boyce, Figueroa, Taylor, McCann, Watson, Maloney, Cowie, McClean, Espinoza

Rotherham:

Recent form: LDLDDD

Possible starting lineup: Collin, Wootton, Morgan, Arnason, James, Ledesma, Green, Smallwood, Pringle, Lawrence, Revell

Sports Mole says: 2-2
