Mike Williamson excited ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers debut

New signing Mike Williamson reveals that he is looking forward to the added pressure of making his Wolverhampton Wanderers debut in the derby against Birmingham City.

New Wolverhampton Wanderers signing Mike Williamson has admitted that he is excited to feature in the West Midlands derby against Birmingham City.

Williamson has moved to Molineux on a month-long loan deal from Newcastle United, and the experienced centre-back is expected to go straight into the starting lineup for the game at St Andrew's.

The 31-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "The bigger the game the better for me, it's fantastic.

"Derbies in any area are always a special occasion and slightly more than just three points on the line. I relish the pressure of going straight in and hopefully we can get a positive result."

Williamson's only two appearances this season have come in the Capital One Cup.
