Owen Coyle is the favourite for the vacant managerial post at Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to reports.

Owen Coyle is currently being lined up for a return to management by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Scottish coach has been out of work for seven months since being sacked by Bolton Wanderers.

Now, according to the Daily Star, Coyle is the front-runner to replace the sacked Dean Saunders.

The 46-year-old has reportedly impressed chairman Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey as they look to get their side straight back into the Championship following relegation.

After a disastrous two years, which have seen two successive relegations, Wolves are said to want a manager who can motivate and develop young players while working on a tight budget.

Coyle is thought to tick all the boxes for Wolves, with Crewe's Steve Davis and Kenny Jackett also linked with the job.
