Serena Williams has stormed into the fifth round of the Miami Masters with a dominant 6-3 6-1 victory over Coco Vandeweghe this evening.
Vandeweghe's first scare came in the fourth game as Williams repeatedly fought back from game point to look for a break, but the unseeded American just managed to hold on.
It was only a temporary reprieve, however, as Williams broke at the next available opportunity to take control of the opening set.
Vandeweghe almost fought straight back, however, forcing five break points in a mammoth seventh game that Williams just managed to win before the rest of the set went with serve to give the number one seed a 6-3 victory.
That seemed to take the fight out of Vandeweghe as Williams completely dominated the second set, losing just eight points throughout and one on her own serve to cruise to a 6-1 win.
