Laura Robson has been given the opportunity to play at the US Open after being handed a wildcard for the qualifying draw.
Since returning to the sport after 17 months out with a wrist injury, Robson has struggled for form and has slipped down the world rankings, but the 22-year-old won her first tournament since 2008 last week at a second-tier event in Landisville.
The left-hander will move to around 250th when the new standings are released next Monday, and that has resulted in tournament organisers offering the former British number one the chance to feature in the qualifying draw.
Robson will have to win three matches in order to make the first round at Flushing Meadows.
