Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Arsenal will be looking to keep the momentum going from their impressive victory over Chelsea when they travel to the South Coast to take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening.

Mikel Arteta witnessed his team end a seven-game winless run in the Premier League by overcoming their London rivals 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, with Alexandre Lacazette, Granit Xhaka and Bukayo Saka all getting in on the act.

The Gunners managed to leapfrog Leeds United in the table before the Whites face off against Burnley on Sunday, with Arsenal now aiming to win their first away match in the top flight since November 1.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's battle at the Amex Stadium.

Gabriel Magalhaes

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: January 9 (vs. Newcastle United)

Gabriel Magalhaes returned from a suspension in time to face Chelsea, but the Gunners announced that the Brazilian defender had been in close contact with someone who tested positive for coronavirus, and Gabriel will miss out here as he self-isolates. The centre-back has since tested positive too.

Willian

Status: Out
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: Unknown

Gabriel's compatriot Willian was nowhere to be seen on the teamsheet against Chelsea either. Fans assumed that the winger was dropped after several underwhelming performances, but Arteta explained that Willian's absence was due to illness, although he has returned a negative coronavirus test.

David Luiz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: Unknown

David Luiz was the third illness-related omission from the squad against Chelsea, with the defender unable to face his former club on Boxing Day. As is the case with Willian, Luiz has tested negative for COVID-19, but he will miss out here as a precautionary measure.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: January 9 (vs. Newcastle United)

Thomas Partey's return to action against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month was cut short due to a thigh problem. Arteta has conceded that the midfielder is yet to return to training, so Partey will definitely miss out here.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match.
