Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League encounter with Chelsea.

Arsenal will seek to keep their fleeting chances of a top-seven finish alive when they travel to Stamford Bridge for Wednesday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

The Gunners responded to their Europa League exit with a 3-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, as Emile Smith Rowe, Nicolas Pepe and Willian got the goals which relegated the Baggies from the top flight.

Mikel Arteta's side leapfrogged Leeds United into the top half of the table with that win, but they remain four points behind seventh-placed Tottenham Hotspur with only three games left to go.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their showdown with Chelsea.

David Luiz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 19 (vs. Crystal Palace)

David Luiz was taken off with a hamstring problem against Newcastle United on May 2 and was not ready to face West Brom. The defender is progressing well in his recovery, but he is not expected to be fit to face his former club.

Granit Xhaka

Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Chelsea)

Granit Xhaka sustained a groin strain in the warm-up before last week's battle with Villarreal. The midfielder will continue to be assessed over the coming days, and he has a chance of coming back here.

Pablo Mari

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Chelsea)

Pablo Mari missed the win over West Brom due to an ankle sprain which he picked up in the Europa League semi-final second leg, but Arsenal hope to have him back this week.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Chelsea)

Emile Smith Rowe was withdrawn due to hamstring trouble against West Brom, but Arteta hopes that it is nothing serious and the youngster should be available on Wednesday.
