Preview: Evian TG vs. Monaco

Sports Mole previews the Ligue 1 clash between Evian and Monaco at Parc des Sports as Leonardo Jardim's side look to return to winning ways.

Monaco will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they travel to in-form Evian TG in Ligue 1.

The principality outfit caused a Champions League shock last week by winning 3-1 at Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

However, they have since been brought back down to earth by their domestic superiors, having failed to pull off another scalp against Paris Saint-Germain this week.

Leonardo Jardim's side held the French champions to a stalemate at the Stade Louis II on Monday, but were no match for them in the Coupe de France quarter-finals 48 hours later as PSG secured a 2-0 victory.

Jardim made seven changes to his side for that match, of which only Dimitar Berbatov is likely to remain for their trip to Parc des Sports.

Layvin Kurzawa, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, Joao Moutinho, Bernardo Silva and Danijel Subasic are all in line for recalls as fourth-placed Monaco seek to close the six-point gap to the Champions League places.

Evian have won their last three games to climb out of the relegation zone and three points clear of safety.

They have only won two fewer games than Monaco all season, but a division-high 15 defeats and the second-worst defensive record in the league means that they are still in trouble at the bottom end of the table.

Manager Pascal Dupraz will be forced into at least one change after Gilles Sunu limped off nine minutes into the 1-0 triumph over Lorient in midweek.

Modou Sougou is likely to take his place in attack, while Cedric Barbosa could return in place of Clarck N'Sikulu in midfield as Evian attempt to avenge a pair of 2-0 losses from earlier this season.
