Half-Time Report: Goalless in Milan

AC Milan and Atletico Madrid fail to break the deadlock in a goalless first half at the San Siro.

Neither side has managed to break the deadlock in the first half of the Champions League last-16 first-leg tie between AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.

Atletico started the came confidently but it was Milan who came closest in the early stages when Kaka forced Thibaut Courtois to tip a powerful effort against the crossbar.

Courtois came to the rescue for his side once again in the 20th minute to prevent Andrea Poli heading in the opening goal from close range.

Despite looking comfortable in possession for most of the first half, Atletico were restricted to half-chances and Raul Garcia's wasted a good opportunity when he headed straight at Christian Abbiati.

Balotelli was inches away from breaking the deadlock before the interval but he just missed the target with a curled effort.
