Half-Time Report: Sheffield Wednesday edge goalless 45 against Blackpool

The Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool at Hillsborough reaches the break level at 0-0, despite the hosts dominating.

Sheffield Wednesday have been the better side during a goalless first half with Blackpool at Hillsborough.

Owls winger Jacques Maghoma tested Blackpool goalkeeper Matthew Gilks with a long-range effort in the second minute. Connor Wickham then had a goalbound effort cleared off the line by Gary MacKenzie.

Gilks was called into action again midway through the half, as he produced a good stop to keep out a header from Reda Johnson.

Wednesday did suffer a brief scare at the other end, as Chris Kirkland was called upon to save at the feet of Dan Gosling before Roger Johnson's clearance rebounded off Tyler Blackett and hit the post.

Defender Glenn Loovens found himself in unusual territory late in the half when he was put through on goal. However, just as Dutchman was looking threatening, he was denied by a tackle by MacKenzie.
