New Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has won his first game in charge of the club 2-0 after late goals from Lewis Dunk and Chris O'Grady settled their FA Cup third-round tie against Brentford this afternoon.

Brighton keeper David Stockdale saved Jota's low strike early on before Moses Odubajo's follow-up shot went across the face of goal and just wide.
Alan Judge's free kick then went over the top of Stockdale's net and into the Albion fans behind as Brentford looked for an opening goal.
Their next chance came in the form of Jon Toral, who forced a point-blank save from Stockdale after good work down the right by Jota.
Brighton finally fashioned themselves a real chance on goal as Solly March's shot took a deflection and just eluded Sam Baldock, who was sliding in at close range.

Following the restart, a good counter-attack from Brighton saw Baldock put March clear, but Brentford keeper Jack Bonham stood up well to save.
Minutes later, March stole the ball on the edge of the box and found himself in on goal. He clipped the ball past the keeper, but it smacked the post and the chance went begging.
They did not dwell on the missed opportunity, however, and Dunk scored for Brighton with a glancing header after 89 minutes played before O'Grady sealed the win with a calm finish in stoppage time.
