All square between Burnley and Huddersfield Town in stalemate

Burnley and Huddersfield Town play out a goalless draw in Saturday's Premier League encounter at Turf Moor.

Burnley and Huddersfield Town have cancelled each other out in a goalless draw in Saturday's Premier League encounter at Turf Moor.

Neither side could break the deadlock in an unremarkable encounter which nonetheless ensures that both teams continue their impressive start to the season.

The first half was a largely conservative affair with no shots on target, though Chris Wood came close to opening the scoring in the 23rd minute when he glanced wide from Stephen Ward's cross.

Huddersfield's only real chance of note before the break came in the 42nd minute, when Elias Kachunga blasted high and wide from the edge of the area.

The Terriers were more dangerous after the break, with Tom Ince embarking on a run and picking out Laurent Depoitre in the box, but goalkeeper Nick Pope palmed the Belgian's effort away before Ben Mee swept up.

In one of the few other notable incidents of the game, Huddersfield substitute Rajiv van La Parra was booked for a blatant dive inside the area, Matt Lowton not making contact with the Dutchman.

Wood managed one more shot at goal late on, his first from outside the area, but Jonas Lossl scooped the ball safely to preserve his fourth clean sheet of the campaign.
