Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will arrive in Madrid on Thursday to finalise his switch to Real Madrid, according to a report.

Real Madrid reportedly expected goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to arrive in the Spanish capital on Thursday ahead of his proposed move from Chelsea.

The Belgium international has been absent from training with the Blues for the past two days as he attempts to force through a switch to the European champions.

Courtois has made clear that he wants to be closer to his family in Madrid, and new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has suggested that he will not stand in his path.

According to Sky Sports News, a deal could be completed in the coming days as the 26-year-old is awaiting permission from Chelsea to finalise terms with Los Blancos.

The report suggests that Courtois is currently in his native Belgium, but will head to Spain tomorrow as Chelsea - who will move for Stoke City's Jack Butland as a replacement - are unlikely to stand in his way.
