Since losing 1-0 to Konyaspor in August, Fenerbahce have embarked on a 14-game unbeaten run across all competitions, which has included 11 victories.
They topped their Europa League group without losing a game, while they recorded a fifth consecutive league victory with a narrow 1-0 win over Sivasspor last weekend.
Enner Valencia's second-half penalty proved to be enough to edge out Sivasspor, ensuring that Fenerbahce head into the weekend with a five-point gap at the top of the table.
The Yellow Canaries have been in superb form in the final third this season, scoring 35 goals in their 12 league games, making them the Turkish Super Lig's highest scorers.
Including last season, Fenerbahce are unbeaten in their last 14 home games in the top-flight, and they have the chance to record a sixth consecutive home league victory.
Meanwhile, Giresunspor received a confidence boost last weekend when they claimed a 3-2 victory over Istabulspor to end an eight-game winless run in the Turkish Super Lig.
Goals from Alper Uludag, Jorman Campuzano and Robert Mejia helped them take a 3-1 lead against Istanbulspor after conceding an early opener, and although Jetmir Topalli halved the deficit in the 87th minute, Giresunpor held firm to clinch all three points.
Hakan Keles's side recorded another 3-2 victory in midweek, as they come from two goals down to beat Ankaraspor in the Turkish Cup.
Although Giresunspor will be buoyed by consecutive victories, they are currently winless in their last six away matches.
They have struggled to find the net on their travels, scoring only four goals in their seven away games, while they are also yet to score more than one goal in an away match this season.
