Report: Hull City to replace Steve Bruce with Neil Lennon

Hull City's hierarchy reportedly plan on sacking manager Steve Bruce and replacing him with Bolton boss Neil Lennon.

Hull City are poised to replace under-fire manager Steve Bruce with Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon, according to reports.

The Tigers sit 18th in the Premier League table, one point adrift of safety following a troubled season in which Bruce has led them to just four wins thus far.

Hull went down 3-0 to Newcastle United on Saturday in a result that piled more pressure on the 54-year-old, who later insisted that he did not fear for his job.

However, City's hierarchy have already began planning for life after Bruce and have earmarked the Northern Irishman to guide the club to safety, according to The Mirror.

The Trotters sat bottom of the Championship when Lennon replaced Dougie Freedman in October, but now sit 14th after losing just four of his first 17 league outings.

He also helped Celtic to three Scottish Premiership titles in a four-year spell as manager until 2014.
