Stalemate between Hull City, Crystal Palace

Hull City fail to capitalise on a number of chances, especially in the first half, as Crystal Palace hold the Tigers to a draw at the KC Stadium.

Two of the Championship's high-flyers played out a goalless draw at the KC Stadium this evening, with Hull failing to take numerous chances against Crystal Palace.

The first chance fell Hull's way in the third minute when Robbie Brady's cross just evaded both Robert Koren and David Meyler.

Koren was at the heart of the action regularly for Hull and in the 25th minute he was picked out in the box but managed to lift his shot over the bar from eight yards.

The second period began slowly but Hull still looked the more likely and almost took the lead in the 64th minute when Ahmed Elmohamady found Koren who was kept out by Julian Speroni.

Palace came into the game for the first time with about 20 minutes to go and almost stole a goal when Owen Garvan's cross couldn't quite make contact with a fellow Eagle.

The visitors could have won it late on as Yannick Bolasie latched on to Elmohamady's underhit backpass but the winger fired wide with only David Stockdale to beat.

Stockdale was called upon with virtually the final kick of the game as Wilfried Zaha rasped a shot goalwards that the Fulham loanee instinctively beat away.

A point sees Hull drop a place to sixth while Palace stay a point behind Cardiff, who drew with Derby, at the top.
