Half-Time Report: Juventus frustrated by Livorno

Juventus head into the break still goalless with Livorno after a frustrating 45 minutes at the Armando Picchi.

Juventus are still searching for a breakthrough after 45 minutes of their clash with Serie A newboys Livorno, with the visitors largely restricted to strikes from distance.

The Old Lady were forced to use Arturo Vidal in a new centre-back role but still made a positive start, with Andrea Pirlo quickly dictating play from midfield.

Fernando Llorente had their first half-chance of the afternoon, meeting Simone Padoin's cross with a header that trickled well wide of the target.

Paul Pogba and Kwadwo Asamoah tested Livorno goalkeeper Francesco Bardi soon after, while the pace of Innocent Emeghara offered the hosts a threat on the counter at the other end.

Livorno stayed disciplined and went into the break with parity still intact.
