Los Angeles Galaxy have completed the signing of Netherlands international Nigel de Jong.
The 31-year-old had been a free agent since Monday when his contract with AC Milan was terminated by mutual consent.
The ex-Manchester City midfielder was immediately linked with a switch to the Galaxy, who have now confirmed his arrival.
"Nigel is an experienced midfielder who will help the players around him get better," Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena told the club's official website.
"He will add qualities on the field that can strengthen our team in all areas. We look forward to Nigel coming to Los Angeles and joining our club."
De Jong will join up with a number of fellow former Premier League players at the StubHub Center, including Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane, Ashley Cole, Giovani dos Santos and Jelle van Damme.
