Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade admits that experienced defender Gary Sawyer has suffered "a nasty injury".

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade has admitted that experienced defender Gary Sawyer could miss Wednesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern area final against Southend United.

The League One outfit, who trail 1-0 from the first leg, may be without their left-back for the trip to Roots Hall.

"It's too early to say at the minute but obviously he's got a nasty injury," Slade told Sky Sports News.

Sawyer suffered the injury in Orient's 2-1 defeat to Hartlepool United at the weekend.
