Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has revealed that playing Champions League football is a dream come true for him.
Lallana moved to Anfield in the summer for around £25m, and the ex-Southampton skipper admitted that playing in Europe's premier competition was something that was a factor in his decision to move.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Reds' trip to Basel on Wednesday evening, the former Saints captain said: "I dreamed of playing in competitions like this when I was a kid.
"We're very aware of what Basel can do. I remember watching them beat Chelsea last season. I feel I'm more or less there now [with my fitness]. It took me a few games to get going."
Liverpool beat Ludogorets 2-1 in their first Group B game earlier this month.
