Manchester City are reportedly ready to test Aston Villa's resolve with a £90m bid for captain Jack Grealish.
With England's Euro 2020 campaign now over following defeat to Italy in the final, Grealish is expected to be at the centre of a transfer tussle, despite penning a new deal with Villa just last year.
Pep Guardiola has supposedly identified the 25-year-old as a leading target for the summer window, with City and Manchester United both trying and failing to prise him away from the West Midlands last year.
According to Football Insider, Man City are lining up a mammoth £90m swoop for the Villa captain, which if successful would become the all-time record for a transfer fee spent by a Premier League club.
The report adds that Grealish is keen to work under Guardiola and test himself in the Champions League, and he has also been impressed by City's persistence to get a deal over the line.
The attacker claimed two assists for England at Euro 2020 and ended the 2020-21 Premier League season with six goals and 12 assists from 26 games.
