Manchester City have reportedly rejected a £72m bid from Bayern Munich for attacker Leroy Sane.
The 23-year-old German international has been linked with a move back to his homeland throughout the summer, with Bayern reported to be keen on his signature.
The Metro report that the Bundesliga club have submitted a bid of £72m, which they suggest falls short of City's valuation of the player.
Sane has struggled to secure a regular berth in the City side, making just 21 starts in the Premier League during the 2018-19 season, and the report suggests that he would be keen on a switch to the Allianz Arena.
Bayern are expected to come back with an increased offer in the coming days as they look to bolster their attacking options following the departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben at the end of last term.
The transfer window in Germany remains open until September 2nd, so the Bavarian club are in no rush to conclude a potential deal.
