Manchester United could reportedly use Nemanja Matic as a makeweight in a January swoop for Tottenham Hotspur attacker Christian Eriksen.
The Red Devils are believed to be weighing up a mid-season move for the Denmark international, who will see his contract with Spurs expire at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
According to The Athletic, the 20-time English champions could attempt to lower Tottenham's valuation of the playmaker by including unsettled midfielder Matic in the deal.
The Serbia international, who has been on the sidelines in recent weeks with an unspecified injury, has been strongly linked with Inter Milan ahead of the January transfer window.
The 31-year-old has only made five appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season, while he is a favourite of new Spurs boss Jose Mourinho having played under him at Chelsea and United.
Matic's last outing came in the Europa League against AZ at the start of October.
