Half-Time Report: Shakhtar Donetsk holding steady at Paris Saint-Germain

Shakhtar Donetsk keep their Europa League hopes alive by shutting out Paris Saint-Germain during the first half of their Champions League clash.

Shakhtar Donetsk's hopes of Europa League football are alive and well as they have headed into the break tied at 0-0 with Paris Saint-Germain in their final Champions League group match.

The visitors took the game to PSG in the opening stages and almost broke the deadlock when Taison's dangerous cross was turned narrowly wide by Eduardo at full stretch.

The French champions should have gone in front in the ninth minute as Shakhtar keeper Anton Kanibolotskiy gave the ball away to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in front of goal, but the Swede blazed his effort over the bar.

Although the Shakhtar defence held firm throughout the first period, they were caught wide open on the stroke of half time, but PSG failed to capitalise as Lucas made a hash of his through-ball with Ibrahimovic in a good position in the final third.
