PSV Eindhoven defeat Ajax to top Eredivisie

Ajax fall to a 3-1 home defeat to title rivals PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie this evening.

PSV Eindhoven have defeated Ajax 3-1 at the Amsterdam Arena to top the early Eredivisie standings.

The reigning champions were ahead with just 16 minutes on the clock courtesy of Anwar El-Ghazi, who did well to convert Davy Klaassen's cross into the box.

PSV were unable to hit back in the first half, but Memphis Depay struck seven minutes after the restart to level the contest.

Luciano Narsingh put the Red and Whites ahead soon after when Lasse Schone lost possession for the hosts in a bad position.

The comeback was well and truly completed by Jurgen Locadia four minutes from time with his shot through the legs of Jasper Cillessen, which rounded off the scoring.
