Scotland ran out 3-1 winners against Australia in tonight's friendly at Easter Road.

The hosts nearly took the lead in spectacular fashion when Jordan Rhodes's cheeky backheel flew just wide of the goal.

Steven Naismith then had his effort saved as the Scots dominated the opening period.

However, they found themselves behind on 19 minutes when Mark Bresciano found the net for the Aussies with a dipping volley from all of 30 yards.

Craig Levein's men equalised after 28 minutes thanks to a Rhodes header on what was the striker's first senior start for his country.

The home side got themselves in front just after the hour as substitute Jason Davidson, who was making his debut for the visitors, headed in to his own net.

The win was sealed with 15 minutes left to play thanks to Ross McCormack's solo effort which saw the substitute end a dynamic run with a low shot across Adam Federici.
