Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Champions League clash between Shakhtar Donetsk and Malmo.

A strike from Markus Rosenberg was the difference between the sides in their last meeting two weeks ago when Malmo edged out a 1-0 victory in Sweden. The Swedish side had several chances to add to the scoreline in the second half, but their finishing let them down, including when Nikola Jurdjic missed from the penalty spot. However, Mircea Lucescu's men will be out for revenge on home soil this evening.

Shakhtar are yet to get off the mark in Group A in the campaign as their defeat to Malmo was the third of the group stage following their previous defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid. Lucescu will be determined to get off the mark this evening, although qualification for the knockout stage looks beyond his team due to the form of PSG and Real.

Malmo are in dire need of a victory tonight to keep their slim hopes of reaching the knockout stage of the competition alive following their narrow win over the Ukrainian side last time out. Age Hareide will be hopeful that his side can produce a similar performance to their display in Sweden as they dominated the contest, but were limited to just one strike due to their lack of clinical edge in front of goal. Hareide will want his forward players such as Rosenberg, Jo Inge Berget and Djurdjic to fire this evening.

The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.

SHAKHTAR DONETSK STARTING XI: Kanibolotskiy; Kucher, Srna, Rakitskiy, Azevedo; Stepanenko, Fred, Bernard, Marlos; Alex Teixeira, Gladkiy
Subs: Pyatov, Ordets, Dentinho, Taison, Kovalenko, Ferreyra, Eduardo

MALMO STARTING XI: Wiland; Konate, Tinnerholm, Bengtsson, Arnason; Lewicki, Adu, Rodic; Rosenberg, Berget, Djurdjic
Subs: Andersson, Yotun, Carvalho, Vindheim, Rakip, Wolff Eikrem, Mehmeti

Shakhtar have made two changes to their side from the last game against Malmo. Goalkeeper Anton Kanibolotskyi comes into the side to make his first appearance in the Champions League in place of Andriy Pyatov, while Marcio Azevedo has replaced Ismaily in the back four. Meanwhile, Malmo are unchanged from the side that defeated Lucescu's men in their last outing in the competition as Djurdjic and Rosenberg lead the line.

Hareide believes that his side will be put under pressure in the early stages of the match this evening.

He told reporters: "I expect Shakhtar will attack with all they have to score a goal. We saw how they played in Sweden and this time they probably have to take more risks. We will concentrate on our defence, but if we can make good transitions to attack it will make it much harder for Shakhtar."

Lucescu has urged his team to take the game to the Swedish side this evening after their underwhelming performance against Hareide's men last time out.

He told reporters: "Motivation is key because in the first game we subconsciously thought that we had three points in the bag. We were too relaxed and content with the fact we could control the game. We will try to play faster. Our Brazilian players have to be more aggressive in the tackle."

The players are out on the pitch and we should be underway shortly.

KICKOFF! We're underway in the Ukraine.

The home side put Malmo under pressure immediately from the kickoff by sending two crosses from the right into the box that are dealt with by Arnason and Adu manages to hack the ball to safety.

CHANCE! Fred releases the run of Bernard behind the Malmo defence with a incisive through ball, and the Brazilian only has Wiland to beat. However, Bernard strikes his effort straight into the body of the keeper, who makes a fine block before Malmo can scramble the ball clear.

CHANCE! The visitors raid straight upfield and Inge Berget slides the ball into the feet of Rosenberg, who makes a run across his man. The striker gets an effort away at goal with a dinked strike towards the top corner.

Marlos raids down the left for Shakhtar and he puts his cross into the box, which is deflected to the edge by Bengsston. Srna has time and space to fire a volleyed effort at goal, but he misses the ball completely and the visitors are able to clear as the referee awards them a free kick for a foul by Gladkiy. Fast start from Lucescu's men.

CHANCE! Gladkiy makes a good run behind the Malmo backline and is able to lay the ball off into the feet of Marlos on the edge of the box. The midfielder strikes the ball first time, but he misses the target with his left-footed effort. The Brazilian should have hit the target from that distance.

Lewicki goes down under the challenge of Fred, and it will bring his evening to an end as he falls awkwardly on the turf. The cart comes on to the pitch to take him off the field. A blow for Hareide in the early stages of the contest.

SUBSTITUTION: Rakip replaces Lewicki for the visitors in the midfield.

Marlos sends the ball into the feet of Gladkiy inside the box, and the striker tries to carve out space for a strike. He pulls his right foot back three times before eventually shooting at goal, but Bengsston makes the block to send the ball out for a corner. The set piece comes to nothing for Shakhtar.

The home side have enjoyed a strong start to the match, but for all their dominance of possession they have managed to force Wiland into just one save this evening. Lucescu will want to see a lot more from his team in the final third as the half continues.

Shakhtar send crosses in from the flanks, but Gladkiy gets penalised twice in the space of two minutes for fouls on Arnason then Bengsston. Not the best start to the contest from the forward.

CHANCE! Rosenberg releases the run of Djurdjic down the right and the forward takes a nice first touch to raid into the box. Djurdjic fires his strike with power towards the bottom corner across Kanibolotskiy, but the keeper makes a solid stop to palm his effort away.

CHANCE & DISALLOWED GOAL! Srna creates an opening as he bursts down the right and sends a ball across the face of goal. Bernard has his effort blocked, but the ball travels back to Marlos on the edge of the penalty. The midfielder unleashes a powerful strike at goal that Wiland does well to beat away, but Bernard reacts to the loose ball to put a strike into the net. However, his effort is ruled out for offside.

CHANCE! Bernard sends a corner into the box which travels through several players before the ball comes to Srna, and he strikes a low effort towards the bottom corner, only to be denied by Wiland. Gladkiy reacts to the loose ball, but under pressure from Arnason and Bengsston he can put his effort wide of the post.

GOAL! Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 Malmo (Gladkiy)

Shakhtar take the lead at last and it has been coming as they have put the visitors under immense pressure over the last few minutes and Gladkiy has got the goal to put them ahead. It comes as Malmo give the ball away to Azevedo down the left and he raids past his man to send a dangerous cross to the back post and Gladkiy heads with power at goal. Wiland makes a fine reaction stop, but the ball bounces in the six-yard box and the forward is able to stroke home on the rebound.

CHANCE! Rakitskiy comes close to doubling his side's advantage from a well-worked set piece as Marlos taps the ball to his teammate 30 yards from goal and his left-footed blast goes inches past the post, with Wiland rooted to the spot.

Malmo are struggling to get out of their own half at the moment and the chances keep coming as Bernard sends a cross deep to the back post for Gladkiy, who pulls off his man. The striker sends his effort towards the bottom corner, but Wiland is able to make the stop with relative ease.

CHANCE! Azevedo sends a low ball into the feet of Alex Teixeira inside the box, and he beats the challenge of Arnason to raid towards the byline. The forward sends his effort across the face of goal, but no player in orange and black can react to steer the ball into the net. Another opportunity for the home side is wasted.

Malmo earn the chance to put the hosts under pressure as Berget does down under the challenge of Marlos down the left. Rodic atands over the free kick, but his cross into the box is poor and the home side clear with ease at the near post.

CHANCE! Alex Teixeira comes within inches of doubling Shakhtar's advantage as he receives the ball 30 yards from goal and escapes the attentions of Rakip before firing an effort at goal. His strike has power, but the ball fades away from the net at the final moment to drift inches past the post, with Wiland beaten.

CHANCE! Teixeira is denied by Wiland this time as Srna lifts the ball towards the Brazilian and he nods an effort towards the top corner. Wiland is forced to back-peddle before he leaps to tip the ball over the bar. Shakhtar have been all over the visitors this evening.

CHANCE! Teixeira misses again! Srna latches on to a pass from Marlos down the right flank and sends a low ball across the face of goal and the Brazilian makes a run across his man to collect the cross. However, he opts to strike the ball first time and can only send his effort past the post.

There will be three minutes of added time.

CHANCE! Malmo win a corner but the first delivery from Rodic is poor. Fortunately for the midfielder, he gets a second chance and this one is right on the money for Arnason, but he sends his header wide of the target. A huge chance spurned by the former Rotherham United man.

HALF-TIME: Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 Malmo

The home side take a 1-0 lead into the break in a half that they dominated from start to the finish. Lucescu's men took the game to Malmo from the off and put them on the back foot, and only some poor finishing from Shakhtar and fine keeping from Johan Wiland has kept the scoreline down at the Arena Lviv.

UPDATE! Real Madrid hold a 1-0 lead at the break in the other Group A match this evening against Paris Saint-Germain at the Bernabeu. Nacho's goal in the 35th minute has put Rafael Benitez's men on course to secure their place in the knockout stage. For our half-time report of the match click here.

The players are back out for the second half so we should be back underway shortly.

RESTART! We're back underway at the Arena Lviv.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Goalscorer Gladkiy makes way for the home side and is replaced by former Arsenal man Eduardo, while Yotun comes on for Berget for the visitors.

PENALTY TO SHAKHTAR!

GOAL! Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0 Malmo (Srna pen.)

Shakhtar double their lead from the penalty spot as Srna makes no mistake from 12 yards. It was not the best spot kick you will ever see, but it had enough to beat Wiland to nestle in the back of the net. The penalty came about as Alex Teixeira beat Arnason down the left flank and the defender tugged the back of his shirt, which resulted in the forward hitting the deck and the referee pointing to the spot. Lucescu's men are now in complete control of the match.

YELLOW CARDS! Arnason was booked for the challenge on Teixeira, while Yotun was booked for dissent following the decision.

Srna gets penalised for handball on the left flank for the visitors, allowing Rodic to send another set piece into the box. Rosenberg latches on to the cross from the left and heads at goal, but he cannot direct his effort on target.

GOAL! Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 Malmo (Eduardo)

Shakhtar add a third goal to the scoreline this evening as Eduardo latches on to an attempted strike from Bernard and steers the ball past Wiland into the net. The goal came from a set piece as the visitors were unable to clear their lines from a dangerous cross from Marlos, and the ball eventually landed at the feet of Bernard, whose shot was directed into the net by the former Arsenal man. That should be the game wrapped up for the home side.

CHANCE! Teixeira has the chance to add a fourth goal for the home side as he beats two defenders and fires at goal, but Wiland keeps him at bay with a fine stop. The keeper has made the scoreline respectable for Malmo this evening, they've been cut open time and again at the back over the course of the contest.

YELLOW CARD! Stepanenko goes into the book for a challenge on Djurdjic.

CHANCE! Bernard almosts gets a fourth goal for the home side as he makes a weaving run to the edge of the box before powering a strike with his right foot towards the net, but Wiland manages to beat the ball away.

YELLOW CARD! Srna makes a run down the right flank and into the box to latch on to a pass from Marlos, and he goes down with Konate in the vicinty. However, the referee books the Shakhtar captain for simulation and Srna is not happy about the decsion and neither is Lucescu on the sideline.

SUBSTITUTION: Fred comes off for the home side and is not happy about it as Taison replaces him in the midfield.

GOAL! Shakhar Donetsk 4-0 Malmo (Teixeira)

Another goal for the home side as the visitors are cut open down their left again. Srna sends a low ball across the face of goal for Taison to strike, but his effort produces a remarkable save from Wiland. However, the rebound falls kindly into the path of Teixeira, three yards from goal, and he sends his strike into the net.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Bernard makes way following an impressive display to be replaced by Kovalenko, while Wolf Eikrem comes on for Malmo to replace Djurdjic.

Shakhtar seem content just to see out their 4-0 win as they are passing the ball around at the back. There's no pressure on the ball from the visitors, who look extremely downbeat.

Srna sends a dangerous cross into the box and only an excellent intervention from Tinnerholm prevents the ball from reaching Teixeira at the back post. Srna has been impressive down the right in the second half, bar his booking for simulation.

Tinnerholm's intervention has come at a cost for the right-back as he has been forced off with an apparent ankle injury. He will receive further treatment on the sidelines, but it doesn't look promising for the defender.

Tinnerholm's made of strong stuff as shakes off the injury to come back on for the final six minutes. The visitors needed him to as they made all three of their substitutions.

CHANCE! Eduardo is denied a second goal for the evening by Wiland as he receives the ball in the inside left channel and drills a strike towards the bottom corner, but the keeper palms his effort past the post. Solid save from the keeper.

YELLOW CARD! Kucher goes into the book for the home side for deliberate handball as he tried to bring the ball down in the Malmo box. The defender will now miss his side's next match against Real Madrid. Harsh decision from the referee.

RED CARD! Malmo's night comes to a fitting end as Arnason receives his second yellow card for an aerial challenge on Stepanenko. It was a 50/50 challenge in the air, but the referee has deemed it enough to send the defender on his way. The official's performance has been questionable this evening, far too willing to hand out cards.

There will be three minutes of added time.

YELLOW CARD! Another booking! Teixeira is carded for a foul on Rosenberg.

FULL-TIME: Shakhtar Donetsk 4-0 Malmo

Shakhtar Donetsk get off the mark in their Champions League courtesy a resounding victory this evening over Malmo. They dominated the contest from start to finish and discovered their clinical edge in front of goal in the second half. Aleksandr Gladkiy got Mircea Lucescu's side off and running with a strike in the 29th minute, and goals from Dario Srna, Eduardo and Alex Teixeira sealed an emphatic victory to move the Ukrainian side to third place in the group.

Malmo will be disappointed by their efforts this evening as they were never in the contest. Age Hareide's men's hopes of reaching the knockout stage of the competition are over and as a result they will have to battle for pride in their final two fixtures against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid in the coming weeks.

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
