Team News: Leon Britton returns to captain Swansea City against Reading

Leon Britton captains Swansea City against Reading despite opting out of the club's trip to Germany.

Leon Britton will captain Swansea City tonight in their pre-season friendly against Reading, despite his absence from the club's trip to Germany.

The midfielder looked as though he was heading for the exit door at the Welsh club when he opted out of the club's preparations abroad after reportedly having been told that he cannot be guaranteed regular game time next season.

However, he now looks to have been reintroduced to the fold with the start of the new season just two weeks away.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Montero will make his first appearance for the Swans this summer after his commitments at the Copa America with Ecuador.

Danny Williams has been given the Reading captaincy for the game, while Anton Ferdinand starts in the centre of defence.

Reading: Bond; Gunter, Obita, Ferdinand, Keown; Norwood, Tshibola, Williams, Quinn; Blackman, Pogrebnyak

Swansea City: Nordfeldt; Rangel, Bartley, Kingsley, Tabanou; Britton, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Dyer, Montero; Emnes
