West Ham United 'to double Declan Rice's wages'

West Ham United's Declan Rice can reportedly look forward to a bumper wage increase at the London Stadium, which will see him earn £120,000 per week.

West Ham United are reportedly prepared to offer Declan Rice a lucrative salary increase in a bid to keep him on the books at the London Stadium.

The England international was linked with a move to Chelsea all throughout the transfer window but ultimately stayed put at West Ham, with Rice's £80m valuation reportedly proving too much for the Blues.

The 21-year-old's contract with the Hammers is not set to expire until the summer of 2024, but David Moyes's side will likely have to fork out the cash if they are to prevent their most prized asset from leaving anytime soon.

According to The Sun, West Ham are ready to double the 21-year-old's wages from £60,000 per week to £120,000 per week and potentially look at extending Rice's contract further.

The report also states that the midfielder is happy with life at the London Stadium and never gave any indication that he wanted to head for the exit door despite frequent links with Chelsea during the summer.

Rice has played every minute of Premier League football so far for West Ham this term.
