AC Milan held by Torino

Daniele Baselli scores an equaliser for Torino as they come from behind to hold AC Milan to a 1-1 draw in their Serie A clash.

AC Milan have seen their winless run in Serie A stretched to three games after being held to a 1-1 draw by Torino this evening.

Ricardo Montolivo had the first chance of the match for the visitors when he took the ball down on his chest just outside the box and smashed a volley over the bar.

Five minutes later Montolivo was involved again, as his low drive towards the bottom corner was palmed away by Daniele Padelli.

Milan were looking the more dangerous of the two teams and Giacomo Bonaventura threatened with a swerving free kick that crashed into the side-netting.

However, it took Milan until just after the hour mark to make their dominance count, as substitute Carlos Bacca was picked out inside the box by Andrea Bertolacci, before taking a touch and firing a strike into the roof of the net.

The Colombian soon had another chance when he burst clear of the offside trap and beat Padelli to the ball, before seeing his attempt of a backheel from a tight angle cleared off the line.

Torino gradually came into the contest and Daniele Baselli saw an effort from outside the box deflect off Alex before heading inches wide of the post.

Baselli did manage to find the net minutes later as he raced into the box to meet Andrea Belotti's knock down, before driving a strike past Diego Lopez at the keeper's near post.

Milan looked to quickly restore their lead and Bonaventura fired over the bar when well placed after being found on the edge of the area by Bacca.

With the visitors pushing men forward in search of a winner, Torino almost hit them on the break and Maxi Lopez saw a strike saved by Lopez following a rapid counter-attack.

It would prove to the last chance of the match, as both teams settled for a draw, with Torino keeping their spot in the top five and Milan remaining in 11th place.
